Guilin Weekend Trip!

Sleeper Bus!!! We are going to Guilin! I will tell you this was probably the most uncomfortable 13 hours of my life. The bus was crowded with people all over the floors, top and bottom beds, and in between. The roads we drove on were pot-holed the entire ride!! The bus spent every minute honking at other passing buses ha ha. And we stopped 3 times for bathroom breaks at these random stops where we had to do business between the alley ways of buildings! No privacy here. Drop your pants and squat to the world. Welcome to China!! But I survived the crazy long but fun bus ride to Guilin! Wow and it was so worth it! We arrived and found another bus and took it to our hostel. We stayed at an International Hostel and it was so fun to meet and see people backpacking all from around the world! The hostel was very nice and felt like a good home while we were on our trip. Guilin is such a beautiful place, I can't even emphasize that enough! It's that secret get-away China place you always imagine! Just beautiful and green! The mountains, skies, shops, people... I want to go back so badly! Kels and I are counting the stairs to the peak we climbed to see all of Guilin from on top of it! It was hilarious because she is deathly afraid of heights, it was hot, we were insane from the heat, so counting the stairs for some odd reason was hilarious! I'll have to show you the video I made ha ha. But on our trip we did so many fun things including the Reed Flute Caves, Elephant Trunk Hill, The Mud Caves, Bike Riding Guilin, MoonHill Cafe, Bamboo rafting the Li River, Shopping the small shops including the underground market, and eating at a McDonald's!!! I never thought I'd ever be so happy to see a McDonalds it was hilarious! Oh my heavens this vacation just wasn't long enough! I loved it soo much and it was hard coming back and getting back into teaching. After this vacation all we wanted to do was travel ha ha. It makes us look forward to our next vacation and I think we now understand the viewpoint of teachers in America and how they look forward to their vacation times :)
