Tianamun Square! I'm on the opposite side of the street on this picture and if you squint you can see just how crowded it was! It was a sad place to go knowing thousands were killed here on the block. Mau's body is buried in the building and you can go in to worship his pickled body, but it was closed for the holiday. It's sad because the people here love him as if the massacre never happened.
It's like looking at Adolf Hitler and saying oh he did something horrible, but he was amazing! That's how they view Mau. It's interesting. After walking around the huge square we went to the Forbidden City! Ahh I was so excited for this! I read all about it in the National Geographic Dad gave me! But the Forbidden City was HUGE!!! I loved it there and it was so beautiful... minus the huge crowds that made you feel like a sheep in a flock. But Malena got lost in here and we had to remind our head teacher to do her job and split up the girls to search for her. My goodness we struggle sometimes. But Malena was found and rescued safe and sound :) It was a beautiful day!
